Welcome from Martin Fairweather – Chairman

Martin FairbrotherA warm welcome to everyone playing or supporting Diss Cricket Club to a new season of Cricket in Diss. The 2013 season marks a new chapter for the club with many changes happening both off and on the field. Myself as Chairman, Doug Young as Vice Chairman with Jill Tebble as club Secretary are new to our roles and we look forward to moving forward with a fresh focus in growing this great Club. I would also like to thank Godfrey and Paddy for their many hours of hard work put in to the running of our club over the past few years, a sincere thank you!
This year is also the 150th Birthday of the club which is a fantastic achievement to all players and officers who have worked hard over the years to establish us as a Premier club in Norfolk. Events will be held throughout the year culminating with a special event on Sunday Aug 25th, so please keep this date free in your diaries.
We have also retained our ClubMark status which is an ECB official accreditation of our Junior Coaching facilities, as Youth Cricket is very important to us moving forward.
Previous officers have also worked hard to allow us to purchase a new Tractor and mower gangs this year. There are other significant plans to enhance our facilities at Rectory Meadow as well.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our Sponsors who have supported us, your generosity is greatly appreciated, Thank you!

Finally, could I remind all people connected with Diss Cricket Club to be courteous and respectful to our neighbours at all times.
Enjoy your summer of Cricket!

Martin
